Area Served
Our immediate area around the winery is a park like setting with trees, wildlife, soft ripple sounds of the stream and sounds of the river rolling over the rocks. We are located on 50 acres in Washington County, Virginia, along the South Holston River. Two miles down river is South Holston Lake, a resort lake. Abingdon is a tourist town here in the Appalachian mountains, 20 miles east from Bristol, Virginia. The area is known for outdoor activities of boating, hiking, camping, biking, horse back riding, skiing, Blue Grass music, story telling and mountain crafts. The Virginia Creeper trail is 1/2 mile from our winery; bikers, horsemen/women, hikers enjoy this trail that goes from Abingdon to White Top Mountain. We are only 7 miles from Abingdon and 5 miles from Damascus-a town hosting the intersection of 5 different trails including the Appalachian Trail.

We believe in producing quality grapes and quality wines. Our customers enjoy the quiet, rustic environment and comfortable, friendly atmosphere of our winery, tasting room and events room. Our employees are treated with respect and share in our success. We are involved in our community through charitable contributions and contribute our time toward developing the viticulture/enological industry in our area. We are committed to acquiring and applying state-of-the-art knowledge in viticulture and enological practices in order to produce fine, high quality wines.

We are part of a growing number of vineyards and wineries in this far southwest side of Virginia. As a group, we are committed to helping one another become established as having several wineries in our area is a plus for visitors.

Owners, Janet and Bob, moved to Virginia from Florida and prior to that, Chicago. We retired from AT&T [which became Alcatel-Lucent Technologies and now Nokia] where we both were executives in the research, development and manufacturing of switching equipment and software. After retiring our first careers, we owned and managed a motel in Florida. Now our third career is growing and making wine. We indeed must like to work and work hard. We are both Master Gardeners of Washington County. Both have attended numerous Virginia Tech Courses on viticulture and enology. Bob has taken classes from U.of California and Janet has received a certificate from the University of Guelph in Viticulture and Enology.

Winery Dogs
Lady, our border collie, was our long term employee.  Sunshine, our cocker, was truly a greeter for everyone.  We lost Sunshine  6/9/09 due to a long battle with congestive heart disease, but still miss her and fondly remember her warmth and love. We lost Lady 11/20/12 [16 1/2 years old] after two years battling distibular disease, kidney failure, and degenerative myleopathy.  We believe a stroke suddenly took her.  She died and was cremated holding that frisbee she loved tightly in her teeth.  She would make you work  throwing it over and over again.  She took it with her to that place near the rainbow bridge where all pets meet, playing and romping around in their restored forms, waiting until that day their owners join them and together they pass over the bridge.
